How to Play Diamond Digger Saga on Your Mobile Devices Until the Official Mobile App from King is Released
If you’ve searched the Google Play and Apple app stores in the past you probably already noticed that there was no official mobile app available for Diamond Digger Saga. This is a normal pattern for the majority of King’s releases as they generally release the games to play for free on Facebook first. There have been some recent exceptions to this rule, but Diamond Digger Saga was not one of them. We wrote about this in great detail in our article “Why Can’t I Play Diamond Digger Saga on Android or iPad?”, so if you want to know more about it check that out.
Initially we reported that it wasn’t possible to play Diamond Digger Saga on Android and iPad using cloud based browsers like we had in the past for games like Pepper Panic Saga and Farm Heroes Saga. This was due in large part to the game not working through the Photon browser, and the fact that we had already used up our free time with Puffin. As it turns out the game works great with Puffin on both Android and iPad devices, but we had to pay the $1.99 subscription fee in order to play it. If you’ve never used the Puffin free web browser on Android you will be able to play Diamond Digger Saga for free, and you can find it in the iTunes app store for Apple devices as well.
Puffin is a cloud based browser that is able to run flash-based applications on your smartphone or tablet. It works to load games just like your home computer does, and the game play doesn’t lose much at all. Unfortunately the free version is limited to a certain time frame for when you can use flash each day, but at least you can try it out to see if you like it before you spend any money. You can see in the following screenshot how the Flash time is set up, and keep in mind that eventually the app will tell you that you can no longer use Flash in the free mode at all.
However, if you are willing to shell out the couple of dollars for the Flash subscription you can play Diamond Digger Saga on your Android and iOS mobile devices. Just follow the steps below and you’ll be playing in no time. The screenshots are of a recent install that we did on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, and we have also personally installed Puffin and played the game on our Samsung phone. We have also had other players from our Diamond Digger Saga Facebook group who are playing using Puffin on their Apple devices.
Steps to Play Diamond Digger Saga On Your Phone or Tablet (Android and iPad)
If your device doesn’t have flash you can get an archived copy from the Adobe website. Since most devices no longer support Flash there are no versions to download in the app stores. Click here if you would like to see a good tutorial on how to set this up, and find the right file for your device.
